After his retirement they enjoyed many winters in Florida. When he wasn’t working, Dad loved to spend time with Mom gardening, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family. They enjoyed walking the dog around the neighbourhood chatting with neighbours, gardening and playing bridge. He was a life member of the RCMP Veteran's Association, NS Division. In 1981 he was engaged as Chief Investigator for the NS Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, from which he retired in 1992. The highlight of his career was being one of four orderlies selected by the Mounties to accompany the Queen on her Royal Tour of Canada in 1964.įollowing retirement from the RCMP, he was Superintendent of Corrections for the Halifax/Dartmouth Regional Authority for over 5 years. He served for 25 years in Newfoundland, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, retiring in charge of Halifax Division as Sergeant Major in 1973. ![]() Following Confederation, the Newfoundland Ranger Force was absorbed by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, of which Keith was a proud member. Keith started his career in law enforcement with the Newfoundland Ranger Force and is believed to be the one of the last surviving members. John’s, NL in 1930, son of the late Stephen and Mabel (Cox) Hall. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father, Keith Sherman Hall, on November 12, 2020, after a brief illness.
